St. Catharines, ONTARIO
Camp Information
The Golden Horseshoe Hockey School Mission Statement is to develop each student’s abilities while creating a fun environment for them to enjoy the game of hockey in.
Each day includes 4+ hrs of ice time as students enjoy On-Ice Skills, Power Skating/Goalie Sessions as well as full-ice competitive Scrimmages. The on-ice activities are mixed in with a variety of fun off-ice activities like ball hockey, soccer, kickball, and team building exercises sure to bring out the leader in every student!
Aside from our quality staff of professional instructors running the On-Ice and Off-Ice sessions, there are at least 5 responsible counsellors for each group who usually have just as much fun at camp as the students 🙂
While many counsellors are alumni that have aged-out of the hockey school, most others are parents and/or passionate community members enthusiastic about getting involved however they can— helping students get their equipment on, basic coaching duties, providing support and encouragement while handling attendance and supervision throughout the day.
Held every year at the Seymour-Hannah Sports & Entertainment Centre, we are fortunate enough to occupy all 4 rinks at the facility during the week of our camp. 3 rinks will be used for on-ice activities, while 1 will remain a dry floor to use for all of our off-ice activities.
Gatorade, jerseys and lunches are all provided thanks to our terrific sponsors and their dedication to the Niagara community.

Championship Game
Each group at our hockey school has two teams that compete against each other all week in a points-based tournament where they are rewarded for their achievements and sportsmanship both on and off the ice. At the end of the week, the two teams in each group compete in a Championship Final worth a full-day’s points. Whichever team has the most points in camp at the end of the week wins our Grand Prize!
This event is always a lot of fun for the kids as well as the coaches, and is a great opportunity for family to come applaud the progress each child has made throughout the week.
